Alternative News » What did you think of the debates last night?

Sorry, kibblesandbits -- I didn't mean to imply that I had all the answers; just throwing my own .02 in there and offering a couple of reasons.  I do not believe that hands-on experience is the only thing there is and am fully willing to give Obama a try.   A vote for McCain, to me, represents a desire to relive (at least) 4 of the past 8 years.  I am also more than a bit unsettled that Palin's pregnant daughter's husband-to-be has dropped out of school, is not a registered voter, and refers to the whole thing with "yeas" and "whatevers"; this shows a blatant lack of support right at her doorstep, but that's just my own opinion.

While we can differ in opinions on the majority of all this, we can certainly agree on the creepiness thing!

My mind's been made up for some time already, but McCain's foolish choice of running mate, terrible debate performances and inability to answer direct questions in or out of debate has cost him votes from a handful of people that I know personally.

I believe him to be a war monger bent on seeing his perception of "victory", regardless the cost to this country.  He looks, sounds and moves like a desperate man -- and that is no good with someone who's got an axe to grind for wars past.  IF he were to croak during a term -- I would definitely NOT want Palin presiding over the country -- and this argument alone has changed a lot of people's minds that I've spoken to.

I want a confident leader who speaks to the people even if that means going with less experience (which I actually think is a positive thing here anyway) -- I'm not looking for another 4 years with an angry schoolyard bully.

A bit off topic -- when McCain calls us "friends" in that plaintiff whisper voice that he uses to try and hide his anger, it's just creepy.

I'm voting for Obama in what I hope turns out to be Landslide '08.

Pipeline Projects » Font sizes onsite -- need some work

Also -- how to track forum activity?  An email should be (optionally) sent when there's activity on a thread in which you started/participated.  This brings people back to the site.  The times that I've been here, if there's something in the 5 entries on the homepage that i recognize, then I look/reply -- otherwise, I will not usually see it again.  This thread is a prime example...

The login redirect has been fixed -- still no option to stay logged in, though.

lol, ten -- opening up security holes is an advantage only to script kiddies and malicious websters.  I guess you might as well be using internet explorer, too!  ;)

Pipeline Projects » Font sizes onsite -- need some work

I guess using an outdated browser is a viable solution -- if one can overlook the security implications and lose out on some of the interactivity of Web 2.0.  ;)

Yes, the font shows as sans-serif for me also, but it's simply too small -- looks like an 8pt arial -- so it's also squished together too tightly.  To solve for this, I simply enlarged the fonts -- but this jacks all the ads off the page -- something admins probably would like to avoid.  It forces me to change font sizes everytime I come here, something rarely required since the early days of the web.  Of course, this also leads to a horizontal scrollbar.  And all this takes away something from the user experience.

One other point that needs attention (IMHO) is with the login.  The site does not (optionally) keep us perpetually logged in -- and after login, one should logically be redirected to the page where they came from.
